The Gliadin Sensitivity Profile uses a non-invasive salivary procedure to measure the body’s response to gluten. Secretory IgA protects the gut from pathogenic material. During a high stress situation, levels of secretory IgA decrease. Thus, chronic cortisol elevation may be associated with high antigliadin antibodies due to intestinal hyperpermeability. Gliadin is a protein component found in wheat. A salivary collection measuring anti-gliadin antibody (AGA) and secretory immunoglobulin A (sIgA). AGA measures the body's response to gluten while SIgA defends against antigenic and infectious attacks at the mucosal surfaces.
